The article explores the theoretical sources of Marxism. The author considers the relation of Marxism to Hegelianism, enlightenment paradigm and positivism and criticizes Lenin’s concept of “Three Sources and Three Components of Marxism”. The author also insists on understanding Marxism as a metaphysical principle. The crisis of Marxism is caused by the rejection of the metaphysical intentions of thought.
