The authors present a model of geochronopolitical transformations which formed the basis of the semiotics of capital cities. They also consider the case of capitalness to analyze the concept of «space perception». In terms of space perception the authors present a new option for the analysis of spatial phenomena by means of modeling and demonstrate a possible way of their entrenchment and subsequent institutionalization. At the end of the paper, the authors provide a critical insight into the prospects of combining the transformation model with the palimpsest concept.
