Victor Pelevin is one of the most famous Russian postmodern writers. His works are marked by intertextuality and many other prominent features of postmodernism. In this article, the intertextuality of the writerʼs works is studied within the framework of traditional Chinese literature and culture. For example, the short story USSR Taishou Zhuan has a close connection with another short story Nanke Taishou Zhuan by Chinese writer Li Gongzuo in terms of plot and structure. The novel Chapayev and Void reflects the time and void view of Zen philosophy. Moreover, the novel The Sacred Book of Werewolf reflects Zen Buddhism’s view of nature and Word. The intertexts of Chinese literature and culture not only impart exotic features and aesthetic values to Pelevin’s works, but also contribute to reflecting the nihilistic worldview of the spiritually lost Russian people in post-Soviet society
