Metaphor serves as one of the main ways to denote emotional states in the Bible, especially those accompanied by changes in the cardiovascular system. Conceptualization of interoceptive perceptions in biblical translations is by no means universal. It turns out to be determined by the source text, the language of the translation as well as a number of extralinguistic factors such as the period of the translation, the character of its audience, the aim of the translation, its correlation with the original, etc.
