Semantic description of taste perception illustrated by the taste designation adjective ‘astringent’ (OPEN ACCESS)

Abstract

This paper focuses on the problem of verbalization for taste sense modality illustrated by the adjective «astringent». The goal of our study is to identify differential semantic features of the adjective for taste designation «astringent». We have analyzed definitions made by Russian native speakers (informants) during our interviews.
