The article presents a discourse analysis of Belarusian illustrated travel-stories. It reveals their social themes and the authors’ stance, shows the specificity of meta-phors of the child as a victim and the homeland as a geographical space. It further highlights such communicative strategies as literalization of the author's personality, dialogized monologue, comparison, and rhetorical appeal. It also traces the deepen-ing of the characters’ psychologism.
