The paper examines the phenomenon of verbal aggression in general and hate speech in particular, manifested in student virtual communities on the social net-work VKontakte. An open dataset containing posts and comments on university public pages for 2022–2023 was used for the analysis. The object of the study is lexical markers of verbal aggression, designated through sentiment analysis as nega-tive. Using an integrative approach to the study (sentiment analysis, Python lan-guage, PolyAnalyst as a low-code tool, discourse analysis), the authors identified four main groups of verbal aggression that are most vulnerable to the construction of negative labels and stereotypes in student communities.
verbal aggression; hate speech; aggressive speech behavior; social tension; dataset; sentiment analysis.
