Abstract

The purpose of the article is to describe the use of speech triggers in Internet communication as statements capable of switching the addressee’s attention in a certain con-situation, causing them to have value associations and emotional experiences (usually of a traumatic type) aimed at rethinking a particular event, phenomenon and/or motivating them to commit actions. It is revealed that triggers act as a way of implementing a provocative strategy; they are able to distort the image of reality and cause mental trauma to a person, thereby violating the environmental friendliness of communication.
