Cultural landscape is a key concept within cultural geography, whose meaning changes in the course of social and scientific development. The paper discusses the shift from new cultural geography and Russian geohumanities regarding cultural landscape as a representation towards critical geography. The latter describes cultural landscape as a totally urbanized thirdspace, lived and differentiated landscape combining physical, mental and social spaces. The paper presents the case study of Skolkovo Innovation Centre in Moscow which can be seen as an exopolis – a new urban form of postmodern cultural landscape.
