Cenotaph: Person in the society of global hyperconsumerism
The issue focuses on the problem of human existence in the postindustrial era. In this era, all spheres of life, including politics, economy, information and human life itself become commodities. This transformation is accompanied by devaluation of values, when the act of consumption becomes an achievement; the society of consumption is transformed into a society of spectacle; irony becomes postirony; and the tomb, which is the last refuge of every person, turns into a simulacrum – a cenotaph. In this situation, the Russian project, the last bastion of traditional values, acquires particular urgency.
