Abstract

The article details an attempt at determining the invariable characteristics of the conceptual role of «corruption» in the Russian linguaculture, based on its objectification in the language system and speech performance. The role of the linguacultural prototype of the current concept of Corruption can be fulfilled by the lexeme «mzdoymstvo» (bribery). Conclusions: the conversational pair of «mzdovozdatel» (briber, remunerator, rewarder) – «mzdoymets» (bribe-taker), and many of their synonymous nominations, have different vectors of value: in the history of the Russian linguaculture the briber receives a positive evaluation in contrast to the sharply negative evaluation of the bribe-taker (venal, scoundrel, etc.).
