The eschatology of Vladimir Solovev’s idea of universal unity (OPEN ACCESS)

R.S. Granin

Abstract

The article is devoted to the eschatology of Vladimir Solovyov (1853–1900), which was developed in the context of metaphysics of the unity of the world. Is proved that this eschatology is rather not individual but the synthesis of individual and historical aspects. The individual spiritual transformation in it is inseparably linked with general transformation of the world as the organic whole. Finally it will lead it to the returnal to the Absolute from which it once disappeared. The historical eschatology is expressed by the philosopher in a phenomenon Devine Humanity («vsechelovechestvo »), the perfect condition of mankind, the limit of its terrestrial historical existence. The way to it lies through Truth and Good. Evil forces the way by the lie. The philosopher personifies it by the personality of Antichrist, which is represented as great utopian and the humanist. Is shown that the question of the nature of evil the thinker recognizes it substantiality («existentiality»), that ontologically is equal to the Good. It is noted that in the last Solovyov’s work «Three conversations…» Apocalypse and Antichrist are described as not general death but as the sense of the world and the way to the salvation.
